Dr Kate Bruce-Laryea (General Practitioner)

MB ChB, DCH (SYD), FRACGP

Dr Bruce-Laryea has worked in general practice since 2006. She obtained her fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2008. Before that, she worked in various hospitals including Box Hill Hospital, Angliss Hospital, Peter James Centre and Korle-bu Teaching Hospital in Accra Ghana. She has a Diploma in Paediatrics and is an Antenatal Shared care Affiliate with Eastern Health and Monash Health.

Kate has interests in Women’s Health, Child Health and Mental health. She also has an interest in Chronic Disease Management and aged care. She has worked with many patients with Depression, Anxiety and Stress. Kate loves reading and spending time with her family.

Dr Joanne Chew (General Practitioner)

MBBS, FRACGP, Dip (Child Health)

Jo completed her GP training in rural Victoria receiving her fellowship in 2019. She has previous experience working in public hospitals in Western Australia and Victoria. She has previous experience working in public hospitals in Western Australia and Victoria. Jo’s interests are paediatrics, aged care, palliative care, and preventative health

Outside of work, Jo loves going for long walks and reading about natural history

Dr Helene Owzinsky (General Practitioner)

Dr Owzinsky graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1970. She completed her internship in medicine and surgery and gained further experience in Paediatrics and Anaesthetics at Bargwarath Hospital in Soweto. She emigrated to Australia in 1981 and completed the foreign medical graduates’ examination in 1983. She has worked in Emergency Department at PANCH Hospital in Preston and in the Juvenile Justice system at Turana Youth Training Centre (now Melbourne Juvenile Justice Centre).

Dr Owzinsky commenced in General Practice in Clayton in 1993 and has worked in the area since. Her special areas of clinical interest are chronic disease management and mental health. She summarises her professional ethos thus: “I am committed to ongoing learning in my field and appreciate the privilege given to me by my patients in allowing me to journey with them”.

Available: Monday and Thursday (10:00am – 4:00pm) and Fridays 9.00 am – 1.00pm

Dr Sambit Patra (GP Registrar)

Dr Patra graduated from Monash University in 2020. He has completed three diverse and fulfilling years of hospital training, including one year of basic physician training, at Eastern Health. Sambit has a wide range of experiences, including geriatrics, paediatrics, gastroenterology, oncology, and significant time in emergency medicine.

Outside of medicine he enjoys staying active at the gym, and spending quality time with his cat.
